eBay Concerns and Helpful Hints
I post some of my favorite eBay deals at a great forum: http://forum.purseblog.com (*The Original Purse Forum*) Recently someone asked me if I was worried about fakes on eBay, and that is a valid question, so I wanted to address it here.
I use eBay a lot - but not for designers where fakes run rampant (Dior, Vuitton, Balenciaga). I usually stick to lesser-known designers that counterfeiters don't know about yet (I've never seen a fake Rafe). If you want the latest Vuitton or Dior, I'm sorry but you're going to have to cough up the full retail price on it. 98% of all Vuitton on eBay is fake - and just because a seller gurantees that it is authetic doesn't mean it is. One organization is especially helpful when it comes to buying Vuitton on eBay:
If you are determined to get a Vuitton on eBay, you MUST visit this site. They have several resources and they will recommend sellers that sell only authentic items.
Personally, I don't recommend getting a Vuitton or Dior, unless you are comfortable with the fact that the bag might be a fake. I have knowingly purchased replicas off of eBay because they looked good enough, and they were reasonably priced for a replica.
If you are buying a bag from another designer that is far less targeted by counterfeiters like Isabella Fiore or Botkier and you know what a real one looks like (interior and hardware included), you can probably get a good deal on it on eBay. You just have to be vigilant and careful. When I'm online shopping at a reputable site and I see a bag that I happen to like I always save a picture of it onto my computer so if I see it on eBay later, I can compare. Be careful of auctions that have very few pictures or only have pictures from ad campaigns (it is very easy to tell when something is professionally photographed vs. your standard digital camera shots). You can always email a seller and request extra pictures of features of the bag that help you verify its authenticity. Most sellers I have dealt with are very courteous, and are more than happy to send me pictures of the label, and interior, and anything else I need to be more encouraged to bid. If a seller isn't willing to send these pictures (the most common excuse being "my camera is broken), just move on.
Fortunately, you are protected by Paypal and Ebay, so if someone represents a bag as authentic (and it isn't) you can get your money back within 45 days of auction end.
I have a lust list of many many bags, so I usually do a designer search and then look at the pictures to see if I recognize the bags. Some sellers are not savvy enough to list the actual name or line of a bag, this usually results in a lower sale price, because less people can find the bag they are looking for. The best thing you can do to find a great deal is find a designer you like, and just search for the name. If you want to search for multiple designers all in one search use "( )". For example everyday I search for (Rafe, Botkier, Cynthia Rowley, Miu Miu). You can save this search to your internet browser's favorite links and check on it periodically to see if anything new shows up on the auction block.
I also have about 50 eBay Favorite Search alerts, so they email me if something I want pops up. I highly recommend using this feature if you are looking for something specific that might not show up on eBay that often because you don't want to miss it when it does.
It's a good idea to be on the computer when the auction ends. Even if you're not a bid sniper, there are other people who are. If you can't be there the exact moment the auctions ends, in the final hours of the auction use proxy bidding to set the highest price you are willing to pay.
I hope this has been of some help. If you have any tips you'd like to share, or need some advice about your own eBaying - please send me an email- firstname.lastname@example.org
These are the places I usually lose my sunglasses
1) Restaurant Tables- That must be one of the perks of being a waitress, the lost and found bin must contain some great finds.
2) Bathroom Stalls- you set them down for a second and then forget you ever did.
3) Other People's Cars/Houses - Sometimes people do this intentionally so they can see the person again. I just want my sunglasses back.
4) Older Sister - I'll take it as a compliment that she likes my taste.
If you're like me and your sunglasses find their way into blackholes, you don't want to pay a premium price for designer sunglasses. So this post is devoted to gorgeous deals on designer sunglasses.

Tweed and More Tweed
Tweed is all over the place this fall. Coach, Pucci, and Chanel have put out some gorgeous new bags, and many other designers are doing the same. It seems as if every few years they claim it's the new trend, but can something so timeless really be a trend?
If you don't want to splurge for the new fasions, Smartbargains.com has some great deals from seasons past. But with the new tweed revival, people will think you just picked them at Neiman Marcus.
The Helen Welsh Tweed Snap Wallet is the perfect clutch, or small wallet for fall. It comes in Blue, Green, Pink, or Hunter (pictured below). It measures: 8" long x 5" high x 4" deep and is only $19.99.
This Prada Tweed Bag is bargain, but it still quite the splurge at $799.99 (Original Retail $1295.00). Measures 9" long x 6" high x 3" deep and is available in beige or green.
Or if you want a smart tweed suit, here's an adorable suit made by Albert Nipon and on sale for $199.99 (Original Retail $480.00)
